Salford offers the prospect of a luxury lifestyle at a much lower cost than its southern counterparts, according to the Royal Bank of Scotland's Affordable Affluence Index. The city's vast range of restaurants and bars, museums, art galleries and gyms are upmarket facilities which combine to make it one of the top five places to live in Britain. Other factors taken into consideration include the cost of housing, the number of top-performing schools and prestigious motor dealerships in the area.
The survey focused on affordability and affluence throughout the UK, and scored towns with more betting shops, budget supermarkets and fast-food restaurants negatively.
And the regeneration of Salford doesn't stop there. The BBC is set to move up to Salford Quays and the University of Salford is also playing its part in the city's massive regeneration scheme by investing over £150 million into new facilities.
When you're surrounded by all this investment, affluence and affordability, there's little reason to live anywhere else.
