The category in which Paragon won acknowledges a residential project which is not only an exemplar of modern house building, but also pushes the boundaries in terms of both quality of design and building.
Designed by Carey Jones Architects and developed by Berkeley First, Paragon is situated in Brentford and is a mixed-use scheme comprising 839 en-suite student study bedrooms and studios. The scheme is accessible to wheelchair users.
Paragon is close to the University's Ealing campus and is the tallest building to be completed using Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) in the UK, also offering a 130,000 sq ft academic facility for TVU. Paragon's striking glass academic building has quickly become a familiar landmark to those who live and work in the local area, and offers panoramic views across the London skyline.
The high standards of design are consistent throughout the Paragon and equal to those provided by developments of private homes. Students who study and work on the campus will have the opportunity to buy one of the shared ownership apartments, or rent a key worker apartment, when they graduate - keeping their key skills in the area and creating a sustainable community at the forefront of West London's regeneration.
