The delegation showed great interests in the Scottish Centre for Chinese Urban and Environmental Studies' ongoing activities and was impressed by the School and University's research vision in built environment and sustainable development.On the 28th August the School of the Built Environment hosted a visit from the Minister Counsellor Dr Wang Baoqing and four other senior staff from the Science and Technology Section in the Embassy of the People's Republic of China. The delegation showed great interests in the Scottish Centre for Chinese Urban and Environmental Studies' ongoing activities and was impressed by the School and University's research vision in built environment and sustainable development.Environment and sustainability are central issues to China's unprecedented economic growth. Counsellor Wang believes there is considerable scope and opportunities to establish stronger collaborative research between the University and China in these areas, and that Heriot-WattUniversity could play a major role in developing exchanges between China and Scotland. The Embassy will provide advice and help for any future exchange activities.
The delegation also met Vice-Principal Professor Andy Walker and Deputy Principal (Research and Knowledge Transfer) Professor Gavin Gibson.
