To coincide with this launch, Northampton Business School is running two Open Evenings in September for potential students to find out more about its part-time postgraduate and professional course offerings.
These will take place on Wednesday, 5 September and Thursday, 13 September, 2007 from 5 - 7.30pm at Cottesbrooke Building, Park Campus, Boughton Green Road, NN2 7AL.
Ian Brooks, Dean, Northampton Business School commented:
''We are currently offering free personal development advice via an informal telephone interview that will help assess your current position and what options may now be best for you. The aim is to assess where a person stands at present and to see if they can benefit by 'topping up' their qualifications to a higher level.
''One thing is certain though – your management development and career progression can be enhanced at any age with the right qualifications.''
Part-time postgraduate courses on offer range from Higher National Certificates (HNC) right through to Masters (MA, MBA or MSc) level. The School also runs professional courses in Accounting, Business, Computing, Human Resources, International Trade, Marketing and Management.
One such student on a part-time professional course, the Diploma in Management Studies (DMS), is Briony Serginson, Community Team Manager at The Park Trust in Milton Keynes. She commented:
''I am currently studying for a DMS as I wanted to update my management skills. I directly manage six members of staff and oversee the management of six apprentices and 150 volunteers.
''The programme has already impacted on my management style and I have developed new techniques for managing both resources and people. Personally, I feel more connected with current business issues and I enjoy having time to devote to learning, something that I really value.''
