We all know going back to school isnt the most exciting part of any students school year. Of course we also know that once they get back in the groove of school work, football games, and friends the anxiety settles down. The best way you can help them head back to school as a parent is to jump in there with them and make it fun. Here are 5 ideas to help kick-start their school year1. Back to School PartyPlan a back to school party at your house with your children. Let them invite their friends over to discuss the new year, reminisce about last year, find out which classes they have together and hopefully make some new friends! If you have a pool, make it a pool party.2. Back to School Shopping SpreeBesides the basics like pencils, paper, binders, and books take your child on a back to school shopping spree! If you arent sure that you even have time to take them to the mall opt for an online gift card instead from the Gift Card Mall. Gift cards like Amazon.com, Overstock.com, Banana Republic or Old Navy will let them choose fun accessories for back to school and they can do it all on their computer at home.3. Update their BedroomHelp your student choose a new theme for his/her bedroom that will reflect the new year. Help them choose something focused on what they want to be when they grow up, or the college they want to attend or what they plan to study in college. A fresh new bedroom can help your student get excited about learning and feel renewed for the new school year.4. Get a PetGet a dog or a cat. Explain to your child that growing up means more responsibilities and you want to teach them how to be responsible but you dont want it to be a boring lesson of course. By letting them know the cat or the dog is their pet they are more likely to take care of it. They might need some help, so dont do it all for them but be there if they need guidance on what to do when.5. Change the CurfewIf your child is old enough to drive or hang out with friends on the weekends kick off the new year with a new weekend curfew. Maybe make bedtime later, add 30 minutes to TV or Internet time, or throw in an extra hour on Saturday nights. It will show them that you trust them and give them something to look forward to as the new school year begins.Do you have ideas on how to get your kids excited about the new school year?
