This simple tweak will allow the workers toreference the needed section quickly to divulge the information needed. The information can then be used in atimelier manner by the worker. Thissmall change can make a big difference in an emergency, when working withhazardous material. Warning labels on the sides of the hazardous materialcontainers are being revised to also be more uniform. Labels could have varied slightly in the pastbetween manufacturers and the variance could lead to confusion by theworker. The labels now have aclassification system to indicate the appropriate label to manufacturers of thehazardous material. Each differentmanufacture will denote the same warnings for the same material. The uniform presentation allows for fastrecognition of the inherent dangers. Thelabels have been given a similar appearance with colors and shape to allow forthe label to be readily identified. The adoption of the Globally Harmonized System allows forthe United States to join a league of other countries with unified rules tofurther simplify the commerce of hazardous materials across internationalborders. The containers will now havethe appropriate warnings and will not require retrofitting to happen during theshipping transition. Workers that speakdifferent languages can identify the same warnings and take the appropriateprecautions. Hazard Communication has evolved and is scheduled tocontinue to change in the future.
