Louise Andronicou stands between Oona King and Lord Adonis, Under Secretary of State for Schools ©Paul Knivett 2007 Louise Andronicou, Principal Law Lecturer in the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences and Senior Admissions Tutor, was nominated for her individual outstanding achievements in the category of ‘Individual professional contribution to higher education progression’. She was named as a runner up.Dr Ed Tinley, Head of Research and Business Development, and his team were nominated in the ‘Excellent professional practice in curriculum and student support in science, technology, engineering and mathematics’ category and were awarded with third place.
The LEP Awards was launched a year ago in a bid to recognise and celebrate the efforts made by individuals and organisations who strive to encourage people to take advantage of higher education (HE). The aim is to identify and reward London colleges, schools, universities, employers and voluntary organisations who build dynamic and accessible programmes that open up the world of higher education to young people and adults.
Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Peter McCaffery said: "We are very proud as an institution to be recognised for our efforts in working with and encouraging young people and adults into higher education, employment and entrepreneurialism. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Louise and Ed and his team for their outstanding contribution".
