Dear Sir or Madame,,
My name is XXX, and I am currently a 2nd year PH.D student in the Department of xx at the xxx. I would like to invite my father, xxx, my mother, xxx and my father’s sister (my aunt),xxxto the United States of America to visit me this May.
I have been working hard in pursuit of my doctoral degree for the past one and a half years. With great effort I passed the qualify exam this spring and became a PH.D candidate at that time. Although I live comfortably here with nice professors and warm-hearted schoolmates, I can’t help missing my parents and relatives who also miss me very much. During these years, I have gone back to China twice and stayed with my parents for around 25 days each,It has been great fun to be with them and both of us really have enjoyed these happy times. I wish I could go back again in the coming years, but I will start to do laboratory research with my advisor beginning next semester which will not allow me to do so. Being far from me, my parents want to see how I live and work here and they have long been dreaming about coming to the U.S. for a visit too. Therefore, I am inviting my parents as well as my aunt to visit me this May, since that is the only free time I will have to spend, especially with them.
May is a good time for my parents to come because this is when the summer holiday at xxx begins. Besides this is the most beautiful season in the U.S.I can show them around the great city of Chicago and I plan to travel with them, in this wonderful season, to New York City, Florida and California for holidays. This will be a great chance for my parents to make sure that I can take care of myself here as well as to get a taste of American life. We are really excited about this reunion. Because I have flown back twice, my parents will cover all the expenses themselves this time.
Both being doctors, my parents have decent social standing, stable incomes and many possessions (three apartments, bank deposits, etc) in China. My aunt used to be a bank clerk and now she is a self-employed investor. Since her husband is the head of the Finance Bureau of xxx, her family has an even better social and financial background. Because our two families lived together for many years, we are very close-my aunt treats me as though she is my mother. That’s the reason why I am including her in the invitation for a visit. I assure you that all of them will return to China at the end of their brief visit, for the obvious reasons such as my parents can’t leave their patients untreated; my aunt must oversee her investments in stock and mutual funds. What’s more, none of them can speak any English at all. For your convenience, I have prepared a document list. Any assistance you can provide in issuing the appropriate visa is greatly appreciated.
