A-Level考生王悦同学凭借一"A"两"B"的成绩,向世界不同地区的大学发出入学申请,四天内,收到了46所大学的录取回复函,其中包括英国、澳洲、北欧、香港等地区的大学。王悦在收到录取信函后激动的告诉记者:"真没想到,我居然可以这么自由的选择国外的大学了。"
记者:你觉得国内高考还是英国
高考好?
王悦:国内高考每天要攻那么多门课,而且考完了,报考国内大学时,不一定能报上自己期待的大学。A-Level课程只要读三四门课就行了。我选择的是数学、物理、会计,都是高二的知识,不难。
记者:收到那么多的国外录取信函,你对国外的大学有没有什么更新的了解?
王悦:他们的回复函都很详尽负责,包括学校环境、住宿、奖学金、勤工俭学都细致地告诉我了。而且,看了这些信函后,我才知道,原来像丹麦这些北欧的大学是免学费的。
记者:其中有没有特别著名的大学的回复函?
王悦:有的,我印象很深的有美国的斯坦福,荷兰的莱顿,还有英国的利兹…
记者:对你的A-Level课程,新年了,有什么打算?
王悦:我打算继续参加今年六月的A-level
考试,把成绩再提高一下,向我的"丹麦
"再迈进一步吧!可以不用拿学费,也给我爸妈省钱了。
记者:你能不能把收到的各个大学发给你的回复函和我们分享一下?
王悦:可以啊,我为了自己方便选择学校,都特意整理下来了,不过是英文原版的。
记者在看了各个大学的录取标准之后,第一时间采访了青科大A-level中心郭主任,郭主任对中国学生选择A-level课程的优势做了以下的分析:
A-LEVEL课程引进中国后,被称为最适合中国学生就读的国际课程。选择该课程的中国学生可以凭借良好的数理基础和应试能力在A-level课程学习中扬长避短、尽显优势。中国学生的数学能力和基础知识普遍比西方学生高,而数学在A-LEVEL考试中可以占两门课,学生只要在国内数学能力与成绩属于中上,就可以选两门数学,这样数学在A-LEVEL考试总成绩中就可占到50%的比例。此外,A-LEVEL体系还包括物理、化学、生物、计算机、经济学、统计学等,这些都是对英语水平要求较少,而中国学生较有优势的学科。
A
Level阶段一般要求每个学生选三门课,优秀的学生可以选四门课或更多,最少的也可以只选两门课。
中国大陆学生,成绩中等或中等以上的,比较擅长书面语学习的,选择读A-Level比较合适。需要注意的是,第一,A-Level的课程与将来报读大学时所选的专业,不必完全对应。例如,大学想读经济学,A-Level阶段不一定要读经济学;大学要读计算机,A-Level阶段不一定要读计算机。第二,数学、物理、化学和生物等学科,对英语要求略低一些,所以,对中国学生说来,即使将来大学想学经济或人文,只要不讨厌数理课程,A-Level阶段选数学、物理等理科课程比较有利。第三,虽然各门A
Level在报读大学时名义上相互等价,但实际上,大学、特别是名牌大学的招生主管们,最看重的仍旧是数学、物理、化学、生物等这类经典课程,因此选这些课程就会有优势。第四,如果你碰巧有数学才能,那么数学可以作为两门、甚至三门A-
Level来学。
在中国,适合就读人群:高二高三新生和高一优等生。高二学生是最适合的,因为高二的学生在国内的高中学习了半个学年之后,紧接着读二年半的A-LEVEL课程,然后是英国三年的本科,所费的时间和在国内读完一个本科的时间一样,但是文凭的含金量则有所区别。刚升上高三的学生也适合就读此课程,但毕业时就比国内同龄大学生晚一年。
A-Level课程体系与国内课程体系相比,主要有以下几点差异:A-Level课程内容涉及比国内课程广,但某些科目没有国内课程内容深,教学内容在一定程度上是相关的,A-Level考试不会出现偏题怪题,以考核能力为主;A-Level课程体系下的科目较国内课程多。A-Level课程体系下,学生只需要集中精力学好最有兴趣和最有实力的3-4门课,即可凭考试成绩申请国外大学,
A-level评分为五等级制,A/B/C/D/E,此外还有一个未评价等级U。英国大学目前录取的标准只需要三门A-level成绩。只要学生获得三门D,就可确保被大学录取读学位课程;如果获得三门B,就可升入很好的科研水平超过北大清华的大学;如果获得三到四科A,就有基本资格升入剑桥、牛津等世界顶尖大学。

be at the Advanced Level.
(b) Four General Certificate of Education (GCE)/General Certificate
of Secondary Education (GCSE) passes of which three must be at the
Advanced Level.
2. General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) examinations
will be considered
a pass if marks obtained are A, B, or C.
3. Students who receive a "B" grade on predicted or final GCE
Advanced level exams will receive transfer credit for those courses
approved by the appropriate faculty.
皇后大学
Candidates who complete seven subjects with at least two at the
Advanced Level or equivalent (excluding the General Paper) will be
eligible for admission consideration. Grades at the Advanced and
Ordinary Level must not be lower than 'C'.
Two Advanced Supplementary (A/S) Levels are considered equivalent
to one Advanced Level subject, however, prerequisite courses must
be at the Advanced Level.
布鲁克大学 Brock University
Applicants will be considered for admission with the completion of
5 GCE/GCSE/IGCSE subjects with at least 2 at A-Level (GCSE grades
at C or above).
One GCSE/IGCSE/O-Level subject (grade C or above) and 4 AS-Level
subjects will be considered provided the AS-levels do not duplicate
subject matter at the GCSE/IGCSE or O-Level.
In consultation with the appropriate academic department, the
Office of the Registrar will consider transfer credit for those
A-Level courses passed with a grade of 'C' or better to a maximum
of 3 credits. Transfer credit will not be considered for courses
completed to AS-Level.
Brock University will also consider applicants with VCE A-Level,
VCE A-Level Double Award and BTEC Certificate/Diploma
qualifications.
哥伦比亚学院
Overseas candidates must present Senior Matriculation results with
a C or better average. Candidates presenting GCE results should
have five passes, two of which should be at the Advanced level.
