The event will explore contemporary issues concerning older people and the use of technology in their homes. In collaboration with West Lothian Council it will examine the West Lothian Council Homes Safety Service initiative, one of the first in Scotland to integrate smart technology in the homes of older people.
Speakers include Dr Sheena Blair, Head of Occupational Therapy at Glasgow Caledonian University, Ian Stewart of the Creative Technology Department and Kathryn McNab of the Home Safety Service team at West Lothian Council.
Speaking about the conference, organiser Iain Stewart said:
"The rapid advance of technology has the potential to improve the quality of life for many older people. We hope that this conference will help to raise awareness of the issues and inform debate in this important area."
