背景：清华EE本科mm转专业duke b-school,OM形势:在window 10等的时候看见过了一个武
大的bio mm;还有一个由工作经历的jj,UMass 3/4奖，专业不清楚;和我同一队的拒了一个
Harvard的mm，不清楚是否自费，记得当时站在下面颇受打击;和我同车去的清华博士jj悲剧
VO是大tt,很忙的样子，不断有其他VO过来请教他，jefferytian(北大EEduker)被check
的决定其实就是他作出的.比较不爽的是我被当作大tt教育新手的case了，整个interview的
过程近20分钟，大tt不断在我的DS和I-20上指指点点，麦克多次重复开关凭嘴型能判断麦客
关的时候大tt在对新手说"You should ask her..."之类的东西，然后
新手开麦克按指示把问题问一遍，我答的时候被6只眼睛(tt4只+新手2只)盯着，下来以后
自己都奇怪怎么心理素质这么好，一直eye contact竟然没有心慌
以下是能记起来的一些问题和回答，其中多数问题是新手在指示下问的，有些事tt自己问的
VO:What are you going to study in the US?
Me:Ph.D in business administration in Duke.
VO:Why do you pick Duke?
Me:Excellent university and it has an excellent b-school.
Besides, the faculty there are so nice. My future advisor really welcome me
to join his program. He's got a letter for you, would you like to have a
look?
找准机会把support letter塞进去
VO:Why do you want to study business administration?
(就知道他要问转专业的问题，早有准备了，呵呵)
Me: I'm very interested in it. Actually, my specific major, operations
management, is very closedly related to industry, so they just would like
to have one or two engineering students in the group. Well, I discussed the
problem with my future advisor before, would you like to see some of his
email correspondence?
(趁机把打印得email塞进去，里面当然是好话啦
大tt显得很有兴趣的样子开始看，还一边看一边笑，比看support letter认真多了，估计是
SL见得太多的缘故吧.接着问了个没准备的问题
VO:How do you get into contact with this guy,...(我导师的名字)?
Me:You know that I was not sure about the major transfer at first, so I
sentemails to ask the Ph.D program coordinator(that happen to be ...), he
become very enthusiastic about my application and
we keep exchanging emails. I think we've become friends.
VO:Have you met him?
Me:No.(觉得有点不妥，赶快急中生智补一句)but we had a very pleasant long
chat on the phone.
VO:Tell me your plan after graduation.
ME:I want to enter the China headquarter of a high-tech international
company, I know they are now
localizing their management team， like Henry Chow in IBM and 唐骏 in
Microsoft, they are both
Chinese and do excellent work. And I think I'll be the perfect choice with
my Ph.D from Fuqua and EE
background from Tsinghua.
新手显得挺满意的样子，不断点头，我觉得该过了，谁知tt示意他关麦克，指示一番，又出
来一问题
VO:Since you want to be a manager, why not study for MBA?
Me:Well, I've got no working experience, so not eligible for MBA. And OM is
quite a new area in China,
I have to be the pioneer when come back, so it's not enough that I just
know how to practice things,I have to be the expert, so Ph.D become my
choice.
记得的主要问题就这么多了，好像还有些别的，记不住了，当然还要了GT啦
然后就Congratulations. Go to window 10了。比较搞的是他先用中文说一句“去10号
窗”
怕我听不懂再用英语说一句
今天连自己都觉得奇怪，竟然从头到尾一点都不紧张。(除了站在队里等喊名字的时候，因
为知道自己的名字连中国老师都回念卡壳的，害怕叫了名字不上去就不好了，呵呵)但站上
去答问题时反而100%平静。所以要感谢前面所有签过的duker,让我觉得很有信心，否则让新
老两个VO联合折腾20min不担心死才怪。当时我就想肯定要放我的，问这么久不过是当个好的
教育案例用用而已，所以对每一问题都回答得很清晰，保持微笑，还一直勇敢的eye contact
第一印象真的非常非常重要，包括着装、口语、站姿、表情等等，反正就是一个总体的气质
和感觉吧。有些人看签经的回答真的没漏洞，悲剧的很冤。但如果让他本人站在面前亲口把
同一翻话说出来，就能理解VO为什么据他了。在下面等的时候看见有些紧张的拼命向前趴，
恨不得把脸贴玻璃上的，还有个穿露背吊带的mm,真的看着很不顺眼，果然就都被拒掉了。
在此要感谢所有我的父母还有所有支持我的朋友，尤其是nebular, ironny,
applerabbit, yben, jefferytian, 卢忻亮，孔道理，都给我当过VO. 其实我真正自己准
备的时间不多，更没有背答案，只不过把一些points记了一下(其实这样比较好，因为那些
points可以不局限于问题，到处套用串成完整的回答)但由于很早就开始跟着nebular和
ironny模拟，受了几次批评和打击?,(被nebular打击得最多了，呵呵，不过很有收获哦) 后
来觉得自己准备很闷，于是27号预约上以后除了打印材料就干脆只模拟了，反而很能体会临
场感觉，所以今天发挥不错。昨晚找孔道理(一起出去玩户外认识的一位留学生朋友)聊了
快一小时，他是个很不professional的VO,问的问题简直五花八门，但正是如此，让我对自
己回答突击问题和纯粹的交流能力建立起信心，就没什么可怕的了。他还说要为我pray的。
就这么多了，签完抓紧机会放风去了，所以现在才发签经。BLESS ALL
