But traveling does not mean that you would be safe. Escaping from our job and other stressful activities is just something that w
It's almost time for Easter 2014. Be sure to book your bus tour to the Grand Canyon from Phoenix or Las Vegas pretty soon. Last year, Easter was a busy time for tour operators and if this year is the same, the tours will see out fast. This year, Easter falls on Sunday April 20. Many people (myself included) see this as a three-day weekend. People will be taking to the road to visit Las Vegas as well as from several Arizona cities: Phoenix and Scottsdale among others. The great thing about going to Las Vegas is you can choose to take a bus tour to either the South Rim or the West Rim. Visitors from Arizona are limited to the South Rim, but it is absolutely breathtaking. There is no tour that visits both rims in the same day. Seeing both rims would be awesome and you can do that by taking separate tours on different days. Bus schedules are never delayed or altered by the Easter holiday. Tours leave at the regular time. Most of the tours even come with free pickup and drop off at your hotel for your convenience. Be prepared for an early start because the tours typically leave between 7-8 am. You can expect the tours to last around eight hours so don't make early evening plans the same day. You have to decide which rim you want to see when you leave from Vegas. The South Rim offers many stunning views of pristine wilderness while the West Rim offers exciting adventures. West Rim Bus ToursIt takes about 2 hours to get to the West Rim from Vegas since it is about 120 miles away. The ride is interesting though because you get to see the Hoover Dam, and Lake Mead before you turn off the main road and head towards the West Rim. You are now at the West Rim. One thing you definitely want to see is the Grand Canyon Skywalk. The Skywalk is amazing because it allows you to venture out 70 feet beyond the edge of the rim and peer down through the glass panels to the canyon floor 4000 feet below you. The views are spectacular and something you'll never forget. This is the ONLY spot in the entire Grand Canyon National Park that offers a helicopter excursion to the bottom. The ride down is a particularly breathtaking fifteen-minute trip. Once there, you are free to explore the base of the canyon walls as well as the banks of the Colorado River. You can even float down the river on a raft. South Rim Bus ToursThe South Rim is 270 miles away from Vegas so the bus ride takes around 5 hours. Is the long ride worth it. Positively, yes. The South Rim is full of natural beauty and many of the photographs you see of the canyon were taken there. Once your bus arrives at the canyon, you'll be taken on a 2-hour guided tour to some amazing points of interest such as Yavapai Point, Mather Point, and Yaki Point. Another fun stop is at Grand Canyon Village. From Phoenix, the ride is almost 5 hours. On that tour, you get to see the beautiful red rock buttes in Sedona. Another thing you can do when you get to the South Rim is take a helicopter ride over to the North Rim and back. The helicopter leaves Grand Canyon National Park Airport and travels to the North Rim and back, giving you a spectacular view of the Dragoon Corridor. These bus tours are full of fun and excitement. Start making plans for your tour soon, it is an experience you'll always remember! Article Tags: Grand Canyon, Easter 2014, From Vegas
