Torres del Paine is among the biggest of Chiles national parks, occupying almost 600,000 acres (242,000 ha) of land in the south on the border with Argentina. It is also among the most important, receiving a significant proportion of domes Like any American, traveling occasionally is just what I love doing and I bet you share the same stuff with me. But traveling does not mean that you would be safe. Escaping from our job and other stressful activities is just something that w
Barcelonais one of the most popular cities to visit in Europeand has a very high occupancy rate year-round. Its natural geographicallandscape means that with Tibidabo Mountainat the back and the Mediterranean Seaat the bottom, Barcelonais on a slight gradient towards the sea. So what are the best ways to takeadvantage of this natural slope, and not make it all an uphill climb? Recentyears have seen some great new innovative inventions sit side by side with theclassic (and very classic) methods of transport in the city. Here are my first5. Barcelonahas many beaches, although it's really just 1 stretch. The old fisherman's village of Barcelonetahas the real beach " those of the Olympic Village down to the Forum areman made, but it's hard to tell. For city beaches, Barcelona beaches are prettygood, and cleaned each night and morning and are a great way to escape theclimes of the city and enjoy a picnic or and early morning dip, before themidday sun sets in. Remember to always take plenty of water and strong sun block. Barcelona'sbeaches have been given the European Foundation of Environmental Education's"The Blue Flag",which means that the beaches have fulfilled some of the requirements, such ascleaning up the water and surf, improving security and first aid treatments,as well as easy access for everyone. This blue flag means that you should bereassured when trying out the fabulous sands, or swimming in the water. Before, the Spanish beaches were notorious for their dirty sands, but this flag shouldmean that you can visit them securely. Comingdown towards the Olympic City you can meet Nova Icária beach, characterized bymany bars, restaurants and discos. Lovers of cycling, skating or jogging cannot miss the beautiful promenade of Bogatell. The beach is very wide and theseafront boulevard gives the best of itself with the beautiful days of summersun. Barcelonanightlife is legendary. From lovely scruffy old tapas bars to seriously chic DJbars and jumping super-clubs, when the sun sets on this most stylish of citiesthere really is something for everyone to enjoy. Barcelona also offers a beachreserved for nudists. We are talking about the Mar Bella, also linked to thecity by the yellow line 4 metro (Selva de Mar stop). From here, there is a quarterof an hour walk to the beach. Reasonably near to this the Nova Mar Bella theleast known beach in the city is located, unknown due to the longer distance inthe city and so less easily attainable. According to many this is the mostbeautiful beach in Barcelona. There are two names you will hear over and overagain if you want a beach holiday in Barcelona. These are SantSebastia and Barceloneta. Both of these are popular and big beaches, and themajority of people will head to one or both of these two during their stay in Barcelona.
