There is nothing like Christmas time, especially for kids, so what would be better than visiting an amusement park with a Christmas theme? Nothing! Thats exactly what founder Jack Poppele thought, too, and he choose a location in Putney, Vermont, for his Christmas amusement park. The location was truly perfect because it has a large stand of pine trees and really gives off the feeling of Christmas.The amusement park was established in 1957 and it was dedicated to all of the worlds children. To give you an idea how much things have changed since 1957 the admission on opening day was a low 19 cents! Santas Land was right off of Route 5 when it first opened, which was actually a major highway back then and went all the way from New Haven, Connecticut, to the border of Canada. Families all across New England loved Santas Land and it was managed by Poppele and his daughter for at least a decade. Then, in 1970 the Brewer family purchase the park and ran it for 30 years. There were many new additions to Santas Land during this time, one of which was extremely popular with the public for many years. It was the Igloos Pancake House. Many families enjoyed peppermint pancakes and many other flavors, but today the Igloo Pancake House is not running. Hopefully, it will be again one day in the near future for many children to enjoy.There are many rides to enjoy at Santas Land from kiddie rides to a carousel and even a train! Everyone will love visiting Santas Land located at 635 Bellows Falls Road in Putney, Vermont. The price of admission is quite reasonable, too, with the price for ages 3-15 costing $13, $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, and children 2 and younger get in for free. Those in the military will receive a $3 discount. All major credit cards are accepted.If you happen to be in Vermont and want to feel the Christmas spirit then you will want to stop by Santas Land. Its an affordable day vacation for any family and packed full of fun for everyone. Take the entire family at any time of the year to get in the Christmas spirit.
