If you happen to live in the area or are even just passing through you will definitely want to check out the Wheeler Historic Farm. It has an interesting history and many fun things to do.The Farm was started in 1886 when the 75 acre farm became home to newlyweds Sariah and Henry Wheeler. The farm was home to a dairy enterprise that was quite successful and the regular every day chores like milking cows, gathering eggs, chopping wood, churning butter, making soap, cutting ice, and more.Salt Lake County considered the farm to be both a state and national treasure and in 1976 it was placed on the Utah State and National Register of Historic places. The farm had been purchased in its entirety by the County in 1969. The farm was restored and is used as an example to visitors of hat a turn of the century dairy farm was like while showing the best farming methods and the lifestyle of the farms inhabitants. There are exhibits and historic demonstrations that will all help you understand how life really was.Remember, the farm is outdoors so you will need to provide your own food and drink.
