I’m saddened to say that Jersey Shore has become oneof the most popular reality shows out there. The reason for this is something Ican’t fathom. What I do know is that Jersey Shore is a horrendous waste of timeand money, and makes America look like a nation with poor taste when this showis ranked so highly. But I’m not going to just sit here bashing this showwithout valid reasons; so here they are.JerseyShore is completely devoid of intelligence- The entire showdepicts nothing but disgustingly overpaid morons doing what morons do best.Getting into fights for the most ridiculous reasons, drinking constantly,spending way too much time getting their fake tans on, and lets not forgettheir words of wisdom. For example when a cat fight, one of many, broke out andthe Situation’s (what kind of stupid name is that anyway) was most concernedabout moving the cheap coffee table out of the way. He didn’t care about thewomen who were fighting, why they were so upset, or even try and put a stop toit. No his only concern was about the coffee table. And the way he said it justmade it seem even more ridiculous. The way these so-called stars talk makesthem all sound like they have a IQ of 30 and no more. And yet people sit in frontof their television sets watching these people get paid for doing absolutelynothing, which brings me to my second reason. Theyget paid more for doing nothing than most hard working American’s get-This has to be one of the biggest issues. The Jersey Shore cast now gets paid30,000 an episode for doing what? Being cheap sluts and men who think only withthe brain in between their legs instead of the ones in their heads, itsappalling. America is full of hard workers both intelligent men and women whoput in 40+ hours a week and still struggle to make ends meet. Some of them onlyget 40,000 a year let alone an episode. It is complete lunacy. And for the kidswho watch and love this show its sending them a very clear message. If youspend your whole life partying, getting drunk, having sex, and being a completeimbecile then you will get paid more for that than being a good, honest person.Its telling the new generation it’s okay to throw your life away and have norespect for yourself. The cast may be making good money but do you think thatanyone actually respects them? Of course not. They have done nothing to berespected for. Theyare horrible role models- I covered some of this in my lastreason but I would like to expand on it. I have seen young kids 13 years old,some in their slightly older teens walking through Target and seeing the latestseason of Jersey Shore for sale. And you know what they say when they see it?Mommy/Daddy I love this show, can I please get it. These children are payingattention to this show, they enjoy it, and they are at that stage in their lifewhere they are easily influenced. And when they spend their days watching these“stars” and their horrible habits they are getting influenced and are thinkingthat acting that way is cool; it isn’t. The next generation are the ones thathold the future of this country in their hands and I don’t want them growing upthinking Jersey Shore is cool and I’m sure you don’t either. I have noticed that reality televisionis losing some of it’s momentum, I see more and more comments online about howreality television is a waste of time and it is. But apparently the networksdisagree because they keep making more and more reality shows. I personallythink Jersey Shore is the worst but the Bachelor, the Bachelorette, are otherperfect examples of bad reality television that sends the wrong message. To behonest, the reality tv craze makes me sick. It makes me sick to think thatinstead of coming home and watching an intelligent, well done show, with heartlike “House” people are choosing to watch these shows that I swear are deterioratingtheir brain cells. It is just lunacy, there is no other way to describe it.These Jersey Shore “Stars”, should have to get a job, get a brain and makemoney the old fashioned way. I’m tired of hearing about the Situation gettingpulled over on the news, or that Snookie got a new man jug (whatever the hellshe calls her new boyfriends). They are all fake, brainless, and a waste ofeveryone’s time. The news should be reserved for the important issues not thiscrap. I know I’m not the only one that feels like this, but I think together weneed to put an end to the reign of reality tv and bring back good qualitytelevision. So are you with me or are you a Snookie?
