Some forms of parent involvement with the school such as communications with school, volunteering, attending school events and parent--parent connections appeared to have little effect on student achievement, especially in high school. CAT 2015 was conducted by IIM- A and there were many alterations in the examination pattern which came as a jolt to the aspirants. CAT 2015 was held on 29 November, 2015 in 36 cities across India. According to the notification, the result will be released in the second week of January.CAT is one of the most contemplated exams in India as it is the gateway for the 21 IIMs and about more than 100 prestigious B- schools. CAT tests a students skill in English, Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation, and Mathematics. This year, the examination pattern was altered. Instead, of two sections there were three sections namely- RC & VA, DI & LR, and QA. Each section was time obligated and one could not crawl between the sections. The total time duration of the exam was 180 minutes.The total of 2.19 lakh aspirants appeared for CAT 2015. Last year, 1,67,830 candidates took CAT, out of 1,96,000 registrations and a total number of 16 candidates secured 100 percentile. Also, till last year, the total intake of students was 4500, while it is expected to increase this year. The top rated and older 7 IIMs namely IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Lucknow, Kozhikode, Indore, Shillong have an intake of around 3300 students per year, it is expected to increase to 4000 in 2016.CAT 2015 result date has not yet been announced. Hence, the delay in the result is expected. The registration dates for CAT 2015 was also extended followed by the release date of the admit card, which was also extended. The result was supposed to be released in the second week of January but since there is no official notice it is expected that the result will be out in the third week of January 2016.Once the result is announced, various B- schools across India will begin to release their cut-offs and will start the GD & PI sessions to select the final students. Top B-schools including the IIMs usually have a higher range of cut-offs i.e. 90+ percentile, while the mid-rung B-schools' cutoffs range from 75 to 80 percentile and that of the lower rung B-schools is around 50 percentiles.
