Child Obesity is a disorder that is very usual among children in the recent scenario. A kid suffering from obesity appears huge and heavy as compared to other children of his age and height. An obese childâs weight is greater in proportion to his height and age. It is a very common condition generally found in US and UK. Basically, an obese child is overweight and faces great difficulty to lead a normal life. There are a number of factors that lead to this trouble, it might be heritably transferred, or may be due to a bad eating habits or may be because of lack of proper physical workouts. There are some studies that say that if a child is born to obese parents he may possibly to be obese as well, but anyways this is not a proven fact. There might be another option that a child who often consumes a lot of junk food and fast food, a lot of much of ice-creams, candies or some other food that is unhealthy may become obese. Lack of proper physical activity may be other main reason that may cause child obesity. In fact, children love to watch TV continuously without paying much interest on their daily exercises and usually while watching TV for long hours munch on wafers or pop-corns or some other oily and unhealthy food. Children are more excited to play games on computers, cell phones or video games which involves no physical activity, hence the child sits on one place continuously to enjoy the game and take pleasure in that but they ignore the fact that they are doing a great harm to their body and health. As the body is not physically active, the energy stored in body gets converted to fats, which further results in obesity. You need not blame technology or games for this, in fact the parents must accept the fact that it is their inability to make their child do too much of exercises that is good for their health and keeps them well. Junk food and fast food which have started a madness because of their mouth-watering tastes often attract the kids to munch on these, these types of food are high in fats and very less in nutrients, hence this food does a lot of harm to our body rather than anything good. The organizations put forward their junk and fast food stuff through fascinating advertisements and hence the child finds it hard to resist and gets the habit of eating such kind of harmful food. But then the parents should be wise enough to watch their eating patterns by making them aware about the harmful effects of such kind of food and thus restrict them to eat fast food. If a child is obese it does not mean that he only looks fat and heavy but there are grave other health problems accompanied with obesity like: Difficulty in moving: This is a main problem that an obese child finds hard to move around, to play, to climb, to jump and to do various other physical exercises that a normal child can do without much trouble. Other serious health troubles are that an obese child might get life threatening diseases like Heart Attack, High Blood Pressure or even Cancer! Child obesity leads to adult obesity and they bear a lot of physical constraints all through their lives. Not just do they face physical hardship but they even face mental trauma as the family members or siblings or friends taunt and disgrace the child for looking bulky and fat which may often lead to severity like child depression that further worsens the situation. Whichever might be the reason for child obesity whether harmful eating habits or genetic factor, ultimately it is the duty of the parents to see that their child does a good amount of physical activity and eat a balanced food.
