What do you think is the biggest staffing challenge in nursing homes?
Is there a high turnover of care assistant staff?
If you are a nursing home manager, what kind of staff do you prefer, regular full time carers or flexible part time carers? May I ask the reason please?
What do you look for as an ideal staff member?

biggest staffing challenge: staff shortage
other problems : staffing unsocial working hours ( night shift, weekends, bank holidays)
limit the usuage of agency staff (budgeting)
Is there a high turnover of care assistant staff?
usually yes, but also depends on other factors
If you are a nursing home manager, what kind of staff do you prefer, regular full time carers or flexible part time carers? May I ask the reason please?
Managers usually prefer full-time carers who are able to work flexible hours(eg. night shifts), because full-timer worker are usually more aware of everyday changes in the home and possibily know the clients better as they spend more time at work.
What do you look for as an ideal staff member?hard-working, kind, caring, moral, passionate in personality.
flexible (be able to work either day or night shift, as well as weekends or public holidays),
physically fit/stong as there will be a lot of physically work, moving and handling the less able client.

我打工的那家养老院,full time员工和part time员工的比例大概是2:1,full time稳定,part time一般是学生,工资低并且灵活。
