In Britain the night sky is lit up by firework displays on the 5th of November, and people gather outside next to large fires called bonfires to celebrate Guy Fawkes Night. But who was Guy Fawkes? And why do people burn a ‘Guy’ on the bonfire? We asked Dr Vanessa Harding about the story behind Guy Fawkes Night.
