Torres del Paine is among the biggest of Chiles national parks, occupying almost 600,000 acres (242,000 ha) of land in the south on the border with Argentina. It is also among the most important, receiving a significant proportion of domes Like any American, traveling occasionally is just what I love doing and I bet you share the same stuff with me. But traveling does not mean that you would be safe. Escaping from our job and other stressful activities is just something that w
It's soon going to be Veteran's Day. That means a three-day weekend for many folks and an ideal chance to take a bus tour of the Grand Canyon. Bus tours of the canyon operate on the same schedule over the holiday weekend. Departure times are between 7 a.m and 7:30 a.m., with return to your hotel later in the evening. Be prepared for a long day.Travel TimeYou can take a bus tour to the South Rim or the West Rim, but you can't see both on the same tour. It is a scenic 2-hour bus ride to the West Rim while it takes over five hours to get to the South Rim. Further, West Rim travelers can expect to be back on The Strip around 8 p.m. and South Rim visitors will probably arrive back to their room around 9 p.m. The key thing here is that bus tours require a complete day to do. Which rim is the best? The jury's out because based on my experience half the people I book tours for go to the West and the other half go to the South. It is a matter of personal preference. About The Two RimsThe West Rim of the Grand Canyon lies around 120 miles east of Las Vegas. That is where the famous Grand Canyon Skywalk is located where you can walk out on glass 75 feet past the edge of the rim. Other notable landmarks include Guano Point and Eagle Point. There are lots of fun things to do at the West Rim. It is actually the only location in the canyon where helicopters are allowed to fly down to the canyon floor. You can also take a fun raft ride down the Colorado River while you are there. The helicopter adventure is definitely an upgrade you should consider. It is 277 miles to the South Rim from Las Vegas. Although it takes longer to get there, you see lots of pretty scenery. The South Rim has so many beautiful scenic views it is sometimes called the 'official' Grand Canyon. Upon arriving at the South Rim, the bus tour begins a 2-3 hour ride through the National Park before heading back towards Vegas. Hoover DamBoth West Rim and South Rim bus tours include photo stops at Hoover Dam. Notice I said "photo stop." A tour of the dam is not included. There is not enough time to do both tours in the same day. If you really want to see the Hoover Dam, you can book a separate tour for it later. Bus tours are affordable and give you a lot for your money. They pretty much come with everything. They even provide transportation to and from your hotel along with lunch, a tour guide, park fees, and taxes. So you don't have to worry about extra charges. No hidden fees. So, keep in mind Veteran's Day is one of the last travel weekends of the year. This means that there will be strong demand for tours and I advise you to book your coach trip early. One thing's for sure: don't book a bus tour the day before you want to go. If you wait until the day as your tour, you probably won't be able to get a seat. Let's Wrap This UpDon't miss the opportunity to take a fantastic weekend trip to the Grand Canyon that includes a motor coach tour. These fun adventures are great for families and people of all ages. Pick the rim you want to visit and start planning your trip now. Article Tags: Grand Canyon, National Park
