The finial is topped by a moon which is a typical Islamic motif but its placement on the main spire, the horns of the moon and the finial point combine to create a trident shape, reminiscent of traditional Hindu symbols of lord Shiva. Another striking feature of Taj is the Jasper or black marble Calligraphy done by Amanat Khan who used passages from Quran (religious book of Muslims) referring to theme of Judgment.
