This is because the Master degree program is taught in English. Most international students go to the university to do Master and PhD degrees. The student life is also quite interesting. The major student union is the Stockholm University Student Union. There are however other unions in the school like the Computer and System Science Student Union, Teachers and Students Union, Law Students Union and the Journalism Student Union. There is also a lot of activity in the school during the Stockholm Culture Festival which is an entertainment festival for the local people and tourists that lasts for six days. The school also offers scholarships to students who are not citizens of Europe and Switzerland. There are different scholarships depending on the country one is coming from. Some of the scholarships available include the Swedish Institute Study Scholarship, The Visby Program and the SI Scholarship for Eastern Europe among others. Application of the scholarships is done around the same time as the application to the school and the results come out the same time the acceptance letter from the school is received.
