Like any American, traveling occasionally is just what I love doing and I bet you share the same stuff with me. But traveling does not mean that you would be safe. Escaping from our job and other stressful activities is just something that w Torres del Paine is among the biggest of Chiles national parks, occupying almost 600,000 acres (242,000 ha) of land in the south on the border with Argentina. It is also among the most important, receiving a significant proportion of domes
The Grand Canyon is an amazing natural wonder and a great place to spend the day. If you're planning to go, I have some ideas for activities while you're there. Types Of Tours There are all sorts of Grand Canyon tours- plane and helicopter flights, bus tours, and one-day smooth-water rafting tours are just some of the day trip possibilities. Each one of these choices is great fun. Every year, almost five million people visit Grand Canyon National Park, making it the second-most popular National Park in the U.S. Summer is the most busy time for tourists to visit and many of them choose a day tour when visiting Las Vegas or a city in Arizona like Williams, Phoenix, or Flagstaff. Touring the National Park by helicopter is one of the most popular options. Chopper flights from Vegas only do the West Rim (because the South Rim is out of their range). The other main departure point for helicopter tours is Grand Canyon National Park Airport, in Tusayan, AZ (just outside the South Rim's main gates). Tours that originate there fly over the South Rim region. And unlike West Rim helicopter flights, they're not permitted to fly below the level of the rim. Landing Tours One of the benefits of choosing a West Rim tour is you can land on the rim and find lots of fun things to do. The perennial favorite always seems to be the one that lands on the bottom and includes a picnic there. A popular extension adds a smooth-water float trip down the Colorado River. More adventurous guests opt for the package that includes passes to the Grand Canyon Skywalk that is made from glass. The rafting tours take up an entire day. People sometimes call them float tours because they glide along such smooth water. Float tours are perfect for groups and families because they are suitable for children ages four and up as well as older adults. Float Tours The South Rim has two float tours on offer. The standard version takes you by bus from Tusayan to the base of Glen Canyon Dam. The dam marks the beginning of the river portion of the tour. Visitors hop on board a 19-passenger pontoon raft that takes them on a float trip that glides along 15 miles to the end at Lee's Ferry. One of the breathtaking scenic views seen on the trip is beautiful Horseshoe Bend. There is also a deluxe version of the float tour at the South Rim and it includes a plane ride to Page, Arizona where guests are taken to see the slot canyons in Antelope Canyon on 4x4 Jeeps. After the Jeep ride, guests are taken to Glen Canyon Dam to begin their water excursion. Bus ToursThere are bus tours leaving Vegas daily that head to the South Rim and the West Rim. The South Rim bus tour offers a full day of scenic views and also includes shuttle service from Strip hotels and a complementary lunch. At the Park, guests are given 2 1/2 hours to explore. The bus tours to the West Rim are quite popular too since they have fun optional upgrades. Like the other bus tours, the West Rim motor coach tours offer a lot of value for the price. One of the upgrades you can get comes with a helicopter ride to the floor of the canyon and a raft ride along the Colorado River. Another popular choice includes VIP access to the Grand Canyon Skywalk. Booking The Tour As you might expect, these activities are fun for everyone, and travelers love them. The chopper tours are the most popular of all and tend to fill up fast. It is a good idea to book your tour one week in advance at a minimum. Don't wait too long or you might be closed out! Also, get your seats online. You will find the special promotions and discounts there. Go to the tour operator's website and purchase your tour and you will qualify for the low Internet rate.
