Torres del Paine is among the biggest of Chiles national parks, occupying almost 600,000 acres (242,000 ha) of land in the south on the border with Argentina. But traveling does not mean that you would be safe. Escaping from our job and other stressful activities is just something that w
When it comes to ski trips, I often feel like there is even more reason to be excited. There can be no doubt that such vacations inspire an extra sense of excitement, which may well be associated with the thought of flying down ski slopes at high speeds! There can be nothing better than identifying the very best opportunities. So how do I go about planning the perfect ski trip? For me, it usually starts with a chat, a coffee, a pen and some paper. This may sound like an odd way to approach things, but I really do believe that it's necessary to get everyone involved. I like to talk with friends, family members and other travel companions at the outset. What am I looking to achieve at this early stage in the process? It often seems to me that it's important to gain a good understanding of the aims, objectives and expectations of others. You need to know what you are aiming for, as your own idea of a perfect vacation may differ from the views held by others.A good example of this can be seen when thinking about the family unit and your approach to travelling. If you have young children, for example, then you may have some very specific requirements. Those are likely to be very different from the ideas of a young couple, or of teenagers. The reality may be, however, that all of those groups will be represented. If you want to get things right, then you'll clearly need to think about all of those different requirements. A failure to do so is likely to leave you with a vacation that doesn't really suited all of those who are involved. This clearly won't lead to a fantastic vacation atmosphere. The pen and paper, by the way, are there to enable you to create a list of requirements. You might want to think about some specifics, such as preferred locations and types of accommodation. Although you may not have a list of hotels, chalets and guest houses available to you at this point, it doesn't mean that you can't start by getting views on whether people would prefer to stay in a hotel, or maybe to look at self catering options. You may, of course, be fortunate enough to share many ideas with others. This can certainly make the planning process considerably easier, although the reality is that the perfect ski vacation won't just appear from nowhere. You'll need to understand that it's going to take a lot of planning, which means that you should be prepared to spend a lot of time getting things right.
