Torres del Paine is among the biggest of Chiles national parks, occupying almost 600,000 acres (242,000 ha) of land in the south on the border with Argentina. It is also among the most important, receiving a significant proportion of domes Like any American, traveling occasionally is just what I love doing and I bet you share the same stuff with me. But traveling does not mean that you would be safe. Escaping from our job and other stressful activities is just something that w
You have been waiting on your family vacation time to get here and you just know that your plan will make for a very special time. You have a lot of options, but you wouldn't regret picking the stunning Grand Canyon. Finding the most reasonably priced way to get there is to go on a South Rim bus tour that will take off from Las Vegas. There is always the option of going to the canyon on a helicopter or in an airplane and you may even decide that you want to just take a rental car and drive on your own (this means is not recommended). While there are some good points to each of these other options, the most cost effective way is to take a coach tour. The bus tours also include a professional driver/guide, free hotel pick-up and drop-off, all park fees and a box lunch. You will also get to take some great pictures at Hoover Dam on the tour when they stop. You will spend a whole day on your South Rim bus trip so plan on being gone for about fifteen hours. While this may sound like a very long trip, when you consider that it takes five and a half hours to and from Las Vegas, you should understand. There's plenty to see along the way, though, including Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, the Kaibab Plateau, fabled Route 66 and the Mojave Desert. You will enjoy the drive on the climate controlled bus that has very comfortable seats. Adding a helicopter ride that will take you from the South Rim to the North Rim and back is a popular choice for those that are taking the South Rim bus tours. When you are on this thirty minute flight, you will get to see the Colorado River, Grand Canyon Village, Phantom Ranch, and the Dragoon Corridor. The people that have added the chopper flights to their tour of the Grand Canyon have said that this really made their trip much better.Deluxe Grand Canyon bus tours have been starting to appear as an option. The deluxe tours use custom vans or deluxe coaches and carry only around 12 people instead of the 40 that can fit on the larger buses. They do come with a larger price tag but they will give you a more personal view than a standard bus trip. People have been known to refer to their driver, or guide, as their "travel butler". The passengers get to decide which places they want to visit on their trip. South Rim bus tours typically give their passengers about three hours to explore the National Park. That's usually plenty of time. The bus route includes driving by famous canyon landmarks such as Mather Point and Yavapai Point, so you'll see them without getting off your bus. Most tours also include a stop at Grand Canyon Village. This is a historic area that features several restaurants (I recommend the restaurant in Bright Angel Lodge), gift shops and museums. You will also be able to make use of the park's shuttle system. Your bus tour may not have included certain areas of the park so you can take the free shuttle buses that arrive every fifteen minutes. It is recommended that you get The Guide that is created by the park service which is available for download. It includes a handy map and schedule for the shuttle bus system. The download can be completed from the parks official site. These coach tours are a great deal and they will give you everything you need to have a great time at the Grand Canyon National Park. They do take the biggest part of the day but you can be on the Vegas Strip by about nine in the evening. The whole experience is so great that many people consider it to be one of the things that they simply must do when they are in Vegas. Be sure to include a South Rim bus trip as one of your events the next time you visit the Las Vegas area. Article Tags: Grand Canyon
