Torres del Paine is among the biggest of Chiles national parks, occupying almost 600,000 acres (242,000 ha) of land in the south on the border with Argentina. It is also among the most important, receiving a significant proportion of domes Like any American, traveling occasionally is just what I love doing and I bet you share the same stuff with me. But traveling does not mean that you would be safe. Escaping from our job and other stressful activities is just something that w
So why is it that so many people are attracted to come to the country? Some might argue that Scotch whisky represents a considerable draw and there can be no doubt that this famous drink certainly helps to pull in the tourists. But it's also true that it is only a small part of the much broader picture here.Indeed, it does offer an indication of why many people feel that Scotland is such a fun country in which to spend time. Famed for its warm welcome, this is a place where you can spend time in one of the many restaurants or bars. You'll meet complete strangers and soon feel like you've known them for many years. The people that you meet will often have a significant impact on how you feel about a location. This is certainly good news in this case! Many people ask me to recommend the best place to stay in the country, or places that they simply have to visit. The wonder aloud whether they should be based in Edinburgh, or head for the peace and quiet that's offered on the Isle of Mull. I always find it hard to come up with a suitable answer and that can be explained by the fact that all of these locations have so much to offer.Would I spend time in the capital city? For me, this is the very heart of Scotland and is a location that I would not wish to miss. It's a city that's steeped in history and that attracts visitors from all parts. As a result, it offers a great combination of cultural events and great dining experiences. It's true that the streets can get busy during peak periods, but that's simply something that should be embraced. My own love of Edinburgh should not suggest, however, that I would recommend steering clear of quiet, rural locations. I would say that the latter can also be revealing and allow you to make the most of a truly relaxing holiday experience. But the ideal must surely to be to find some sort of happy medium. Rather than settling for a city break, or simply looking to spend a lot of time in a more rural setting, it makes a lot of sense to embrace the opportunities offered by both. This may seem like something that would be difficult to achieve, but the reality is that it's probably easier than you may think. You could hire a vehicle (from a car to a camper van) and tour round the country. Fortunately, this is made possible by the fact that Scotland boasts an excellent road network. Why is it that such a trip should appeal to me so much? It would certainly appear to be the case that this allows you to see more destinations, but it's also clear that you'll be able to benefit from building your own itinerary. This is undoubtedly the best way to see the country. Article Tags: Spend Time
