Torres del Paine is among the biggest of Chiles national parks, occupying almost 600,000 acres (242,000 ha) of land in the south on the border with Argentina. It is also among the most important, receiving a significant proportion of domes Like any American, traveling occasionally is just what I love doing and I bet you share the same stuff with me. But traveling does not mean that you would be safe. Escaping from our job and other stressful activities is just something that w
New Zealand is blessed with natural wonders such as mountains, grand views of the sea, lakes, and volcanoes among other things. Preserving these natural wonders is important, especially since one of the main motivations for tourists to visit here are these natural sights. Taking them all in is nearly impossible as there is just too much to see, but let's have a look at some of the more interesting parks and nature reserves this spectacular island has to offer. Queens Park in Invercargill is a beautiful park with a lovely garden. There are many parks with gardens in Invercargill but this one has a gorgeous rose garden and you could roam around the whole day enjoying the fresh air. There is also a bird sanctuary with birds native to New Zealand as well as birds from other places around the world. This park helps encapsulate the southern, laid back charm of this part of New Zealand.Porpoise Bay and Curio Bay in the Catlins offer a quiet respite, not as much adventure tourism here as in other places in NZ. They have waterfalls, bushwalks, beaches, and caves to explore. There is plenty of wildlife to look out for and there are horse rides available for a decent price. In Porpoise Bay you can play with Hectors dolphins, who are rather curious and seem to live mostly in this area so it is not a rare occurrence for them to be there. Not far from there is a great spot for checking out yellow eyed penguins and another has seals. Slope Point is the southernmost point in New Zealand and worth a few pictures for sure. Hagley Park in Christchurch is a great respite from the hustle and bustle of Christchurch. Christchurch is known as the garden city, and this is one of the best botanical gardens around. There are native and imported plants, with giant trees from all over the world, some of which were planted by British royalty. Here they also have the International Peace Bell, made from over 100 coins from all over the world. Trounson Kauri Park in northern New Zealand is a spectacular park filled with the famous Kauri trees. In fact this forest contains Tane Mahuta, the largest known living Kauri tree. Additionally this is one of the only places left in New Zealand where the Kiwi bird makes its natural habitat. Seeing a kiwi isn't easy as they are nocturnal but it is possible and fun to go out looking for the little buggers. The Tane Mahuta tree is an easy 5 minute walk on a nice boardwalk, and there is also longer walks to check out more of these gentle giants. There are so many other parks and nature reserves to check out in New Zealand it would take a lifetime to discover everything there. Take in what you can see and make sure to mark off what is most important to you. You will get side-tracked which should be seen as a pleasure and not as an irritant. So plan with patience in mind and go see this gorgeous country already!
