Like any American, traveling occasionally is just what I love doing and I bet you share the same stuff with me. But traveling does not mean that you would be safe. Escaping from our job and other stressful activities is just something that w Torres del Paine is among the biggest of Chiles national parks, occupying almost 600,000 acres (242,000 ha) of land in the south on the border with Argentina. It is also among the most important, receiving a significant proportion of domes
The Caribbean is a vast area located east of Mexico, northof South America and south-east of North America. The vast majority of theregion is taken up by the Caribbean Sea, which is bordered to the north andeast by the islands of the West Indies. These include the islands of Cuba,Jamaica, Hispaniola and Peurto Rico, forming the Greater Antilles, along withthe Bahamas, the Lesser Antilles, the Leeward Islands and the WindwardIslands. In this article we're going tofocus on three of my favourite Caribbean islands, selected for their naturalbeauty as well as for the luxury Caribbean villas they are home to. First up we're going to look at Barbados. Although notstrictly part of the Caribbean as the island lies within the Atlantic Oceanrather than the Caribbean Sea, Barbados is however a member of the Caribbeaneconomic community, so that's near enough for us. The official language isEnglish, although many locals speak the Bajan dialect. They also drive on theleft as we do here in Blighty, but that's where the similarities end. Barbadosenjoys almost unhindered sunshine and even the so-called wet season which runsfrom June to November sees far less rainfall than the average British summer.Built mainly on coral, the island is famed for it's natural beauty andpredictably good weather. For this reason the island is home to many luxuryCaribbean villas and has become a prime destination for luxury Caribbeanholidays. Next we have Dominica, not to be confused with The DominicanRepublic. Depending on where your allegiances lie, Dominica is either thenorthernmost of the Windward Islands or the southernmost of the LeewardIslands, but regardless of which island chain you choose to attribute thisisland to, it's a prime destination for luxury Caribbean holidays. Unlike therelatively flat Barbados, Dominica is a mountainous island covered almostentirely in rainforest. Waterfalls, natural hot springs, treks and trails, excellent scuba diving and bustling night life are waiting for you, as well asa host of luxury Caribbean villas which can be rented making Dominica theperfect destination for those wanting a luxury holiday in the Caribbean. Undoubtedly my favourite Caribbean destination is the CaymanIslands. Situated south of Cuba and north-west of Jamaica, the three islands ofGrand Cayman, Little Cayman and Cayman Brac offer everything you need for aluxury holiday. Scuba diving, boat trips, walking trails, pony treks along withexcellent night life, bars and restaurants and a host of luxurious villas torent makes the Cayman Islands as good as any other Caribbean destination. Whatmakes the Cayman Islands really stand out is it's geographical location, as theseislands are in fact the peaks of a single submerged mountain ridge whichoverlooks the Cayman Trench, the floor of which is some 20,000 feet beneath thewaves. Bearing in mind the highest point of the Cayman islands is a mere 141feet above sea level, it really is the very tips of this huge subaquaticmountain ridge which forms the three islands. If the seas rose a further 100feet after the last ice age these islands would be treacherous to shipping andtherefore avoided at all costs, rather than being one of the best loveddestinations for luxury Caribbean holidays it is today.
