Torres del Paine is among the biggest of Chiles national parks, occupying almost 600,000 acres (242,000 ha) of land in the south on the border with Argentina. It is also among the most important, receiving a significant proportion of domes Like any American, traveling occasionally is just what I love doing and I bet you share the same stuff with me. But traveling does not mean that you would be safe. Escaping from our job and other stressful activities is just something that w
It can be hard at times to decide where to go on holiday, with so many fantastic destinations to choose from. Sun seekers often gravitate towards the great weather in Tenerife, but surely there is more to it than that? There is great weather in Greece. Are there any other good reasons to visit the island? Or is it just about the weather? Well if you are looking for a bargain the abundance of resorts in the south of the island makes for plenty of choice. There is plenty of accommodation ranging from the cheap and cheerful to really nice 5 star hotels. You can find will you like Tenerife? Tenerife isnt known for cultural breaks and adventurous travel is it?You might not think culture when you think of Tenerife holidays, but stand by for a shock as there are plenty of great cultural activities in Tenerife. They are there for anyone with the inclination to leave the resort and look for them. You dont even have to go that far from the resort. Take a one hour bus ride to anything that you need in the resort, so if you dont want to you wont have to leave. You should be able to find all your home comforts right there in the resort. With long man made beaches you have plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy the sun.If you dont choose where to go on holiday based only on the weather though, Santa Cruz, the capital of the Canaries. Playa de las Americas feels like a million miles away. You will get a really authentic look at local life as few tourists ever make it to the capital. When you are thinking about when to go to Tenerife it is hard to decide as there really isnt a bad time. Well the weather is going to be sunny and fairly dry whatever time of year you visit. You should probably give more thought to the cultural activities that are going on, rather than the weather. You cant do much better than visiting in February to experience the Tenerife carnival. It is often said that the only carnival in the world more exciting than Santa Cruz is in Rio itself! There are plenty of other great festivals though. A favourite of mine is the Noche de San Juan. The festival ends with beach parties and bonfires and an early morning cleansing dip in the sea. That happens in June, so it is another good time to pick up a cheap break before the school holidays start.
