Raise your hand if you love hanging out in the airport. Okay, so nobody raised their hands at all. There is nothing pleasant about waiting around in an airport, waiting to get to where you are going. It adds to the stress of the entire day. What if you are on your way to an important business meeting and you are delayed in the airport and barely make it to your meeting on time? How much does that extra stress affect your performance at the meeting? Did it help or hurt you as you tried to conduct your meeting? It doesn't help obviously, but what can you do about it?You can't get the airlines to guarantee their flights or to even apologize when they make you wait in the plane or in the terminal for hours at a time for no apparent reason. That is the problem with most commercial airlines.They have gone away from the customer focused business that flying once was and turned it into a government subsidized program that is full of bureaucracy and turned customer service into an oxymoron. There is no customer service anymore because the airlines can't afford to have any. They want or need to herd you into a plane and get you off the plane with as little expense and time taken in order to fill the plane up with more paying passengers.It is cheaper to fly places now. Less expensive than people would have thought possible before. That has resulted in a pretty much guarantee of less service and fewer perks. If this bothers you then you will have to consider the alternative. There really is no way that you can get outstanding service with a dirt cheap price. That is what passengers face with commercial airlines for the most part and there is no getting around it.Another option that involves the speed of flight without the hassle of the commercial airline experience is going with a private carrier. There are quit a few companies that understand that people like to be treated well. Customer service is something that some companies still have the knack of.
