Chicago beaches line Lake Michigan and offer a wide variety of options for swimmers, athletes, and sunbathers.Oak Street Beach continues to be one of the more popular beaches in Chicago. There is usually quite a crowd here. The biggest advantage this beach offers tourists is that it is within walking distance from down town. There is also ample parking along Lake Shore Drive with a walking bridge that will take you right to this shore.Montrose Beach is a little farther from downtown but offers a nice expanse of sand and less of a crowd if you visit on the right day. There is, also, a lot of parking nearby.Fullerton Beach is located across from the Lincoln Park Zoo and can be a quieter beach option because of this. You will find many families here. This is a sandy shoreline and is usually less crowded if you walk further down from the vendors.North Avenue Beach offers a great look at the city of Chicago because of its curved shoreline. This is the beach to go to if you want to meet people.
