Day 1 - Arrive CochinMeeting and greetings on arrival at Cochin Airport or Railway Station and transfer to the hotel. Cochin also known as the Queen of the Arabian Sea. it is the heart of Gods Own Country and also the center of business and commercial establishments. Late proceed for half day sightseeing trip to Fort Cochin, Mattancherry, Spice Markets, Antique Shopping, Jewish Synagogue, St Francis Basilica, Dutch Palace, Vasco Da Gama Square and Chinese Fishing Nets. Overnight at the hotel.Day 2 Cochin to PeriyarMorning after breakfast at the hotel proceed to Periyar National Park. Check in at Jungle Lodge on arrival. Afternoon visit spice plantation. Overnight at the lodge.Day 3 Periyar to KumarakomMorning game viewing by motorboat (direct payment) where you will watch the wild life mainly wild elephants in herds. Other than wild elephants, you may also catch sight of Tigers, Bison, Spotted deer, Gaur and other animals. This is the only sanctuary in India where you can have the unique experience of viewing wildlife at close quarters from the safety of a boat on the lake. Enjoy the sights and sounds of this wonderful sanctuary.Late morning drive to Jetty to board Houseboat for Kumarakom. The village of Kumarakom is a cluster of little islands and this small water world is part of the Kuttanad region. A picturesque, clean village, Kumarakom is a tiny hamlet on the banks of a lagoon formed by the Vembanad lake. Overnight will be spend on board the houseboat - emerald backwaters reflect hundreds of thousands of gently swaying palms where the primary attraction however, is its lazy ambience. Enjoy the sunset from the floating houseboat.Day 4 At KumarakomMorning after breakfast at the houseboat disembark and check in at the resort. Later visit the bird sanctuary (direct payment for boat hire) of Kumarakom and explore a whole new world of feathered species. For an inquisitive bird watcher it is an ideal place that echoes with the chirping of birds including a variety of migratory birds. Take a walk around the sanctuary while experiencing the sights and sounds of these birds. Kumarakom offers visitors many other leisure options. Either you are free at leisure, or enjoy the backwaters with paddleboats, canoe and Kayaks at the lagoon available at the resort.
