While Puerto Montt is the hustling, bustling major city in the area, the quieter more picturesque Puerto Varas is where we recommend you stay the night. With quick and easy access to the city, Puerto Varas is more in tune with its natural surroundings. There are two hotels in particular that come highly recommended. Well examine reviews from recent guests which is information you can trust coming straight from travelers who have been there. One of our recommended Puerto Varas hotels is the Hotel Solace. One guest stayed for two nights and reports that the hotel has a warm, cozy décor with a heavy use of wood in a modern style. It is located only two blocks from the main downtown and very nice views of the cathedral from their spacious, comfortable room. They enjoyed that arriving to the hotel after a long and stressful travel day it felt like a breath of fresh air. They could once again relax in a comfortable environment. Breakfasts were delicious and usually included a buffet with cereal, fruit, breads, coffee, eggs, sausage and ham. There were plenty of great lounge areas throughout the hotel and the high speed WIFI worked everywhere. Another guest reported good cable TV, and very good beds and mattresses. Another guest said the junior suites are large and clean and had great views of the three volcanoes across the lake. A different traveler reported that the staff made them feel very comfortable. They were even able to wash and dry their clothes for them when they got caught in a rainstorm. The breakfast spread was magnificent and the view they had overlooking the town and the old church was refreshing. Our second recommended Puerto Varas hotel is the Hotel Patagonico. This hotel opened its doors in 2009 to become the first five-star hotel in the area. Each room features state of the art technology and is decorated with natural, hand-crafted materials. In addition, the walls in each room are adorned with examples of Chilean poetry. Guests at Hotel Patagonico have given excellent reviews based in value, rooms, location, cleanliness and service. Services include air conditioning and central heating. There are rooms that can accommodate disabilities. Theres a room service, hair dryer, frigobar, satellite tv, wifi area and laundry service. You can exchange money. There is parking and a heated swimming pool. There is a nanny service, a doctor, secretary service, business center, childrens club, multiple restaurants, bar, outdoor activities service and meeting rooms. One guest described it as an elegant hotel that counts with privileged views of Llanquihue lake and Osorno volcano. The architecture is related in harmony with a calm and traditional city in front of train stations and less than an hour from the airport. Hotel Patagonico is located on 360 Klenner in Puerto Varas, Chile. Puerto Varas is a must-see Chile destination. In recognition of the importance of a good hotel to make your experience that much richer, these two hotels are ensured to meet a certain standard. They are sure bets and wont disappoint.
