The beach is the heart of Instow and at Westfield you are right there.Instow is situated between the rivers Torridge and Taw having fantastic sceneries over the river on the way to Appledore but the village enjoys a much quieter life than before because of the introduction of a high level bridge situated over the Torridge River. In the Instow beach the sand is of fine flat quality and there is a plenty of space available for the beach games. But the rocks are not available but you can take shelter in the sand dunes. Cafes, toilets and pubs are just a short walk into the village. The Instow sands are situated at the gathering point of the Torridge and Torr Rivers thus it offers bathing much safer as compared to the sea in the open but without any surf, but you must be aware of the very strong river currents, therefore bathing at the low water surface is not suggested. Instow is a superb family destination which hosts many tourist attractions suitable for all ages. The village hosts a fabulous beach with tourist facilities and many restaurants and gift shops. There are several towns near Instow all within easy reach via very reliable bus services.
