Like any American, traveling occasionally is just what I love doing and I bet you share the same stuff with me. But traveling does not mean that you would be safe. Escaping from our job and other stressful activities is just something that w Torres del Paine is among the biggest of Chiles national parks, occupying almost 600,000 acres (242,000 ha) of land in the south on the border with Argentina. It is also among the most important, receiving a significant proportion of domes
If a man spends most of his life cooped up in a room, staring at walls, smelling processed air, he may start feeling trapped and confined. Sometimes he may get that nomadic urge and want to break out, but in a house without wheels, if he leaves, he cant take his life with him.Ive recently decided reject this sort of arbritrary restriction, and start living the way I want. I went and found a place that does campervan hire a few months ago. I have quite a bit of money put back, and I have developed the kind of investments and partnerships that allowed me to let other people take care of my day to day activities, so I decided I wanted to rent one for a few months and just go see the country. It took some convincing to get my wife on board, and there were quite a few preparations to make before I could hit the road, but Im sure glad I did.The van I rented had a cozy little kitchen with a fridge. There was a functional grill, air conditioning and I could even hook up power when I stayed at certain camp sites. After a while, the place started to feel more like home than the place I left behind. I started to wonder if I really wanted to go back to that life. Every morning, the sun was in a different place, peaking over new horizons. I was on a journey, and every day offered new sites and new adventures. Australia is a big place, with a lot of nature to see, and a lot of people to meet. Ive lived here all my life, but I havent ever actually seen the place before now. I looked at it everyday, but looking at something and really experiencing it are two different things. There were times during the adventure where I seriously considered making it a permanent holiday, and living off my savings, but eventually, reality set in, and I realized that as boring as regular life may be, I still had a few more years to go before I was ready for retirement, There were still things to accomplish, and long held goals to achieve. This adventure left a mark on me though. One thing I know for sure is that Im going to go ahead and buy a campervan soon. Having the chance to rent one, and see what a life on the road can be like, has convinced me that I want one of my own, so I can use it anytime I want. Having a house with wheels is the most liberating experience Ive ever had, and I expect to spend a lot of time living that way in the years to come.
