September 10 is approaching and it is going to be a big day for the Apple, as it will launch perhaps the most advanced version of its ODS the iOS 7. During its announcement at the WWDC a couple of months back, it was praised hugely by app developers and observers for its translucent screen, new app icons and estimates on how it is going the influence the revenue generated by apps. One thing that I observed post WWDC was that with the launch of iOS 7, Apple is going to change forever and would rise above "Jobs affect" over the company. Here is more of what I further realized from the announcement made by Apple. About Google For quite some time now, Apple has been working to eliminate every trace of Google. For example, with iOS 6, we witnessed the arrival of Apple maps that lagged far behind than Google maps. YouTube was also removed from the list of mandatory apps on the home screen. iOS 7 is another step in this pursuit, as the company revealed at the WWDC that Google would not be inducted as a search engine to empower Siri. Instead, they have integrated with Bing search engine to help Apple customers in navigating the world from their Apple devices. Retooled app store to help kids grow smarter Apple noticed the increasing interest of kids in Apple devices as most of them love to navigate their parent's iPhones and iPads when they are lying idle. Moreover, schools and colleges are busy adopting Apple devices because of the fact the app developers are busily developing apps to help teachers and students leverage the best benefits of iPads and iPhones. Thus, Apple decided to launch a section dedicated to kids in its app store. With the help of this sub-section, parents and teachers would be able to find their kind of apps very easily. This step is seen as a reply to Google's recent step, where it opened Google play for educational apps as well. Considering China as a market Of course, Apple was late to realize the importance of China in terms of markets, product sale and retail stores, but for iOS 7, Apple is considering China as the most important country to market it. New features of upcoming iOS 7 highlight inclusion of Chinese/English bilingual dictionary, support for a number of Chinese characters and integration of a popular blogging site "Tencent Weibo". The inclusion of this site looks like another step after integrating another social networking website "Sina Weibo" with iOS 6 that happens to be the toughest competitor of Tancent Weibo. Both these websites have more than 500 million users respectively. Apps getting more exclusive than before Steve jobs developed Apple as a company where loyalty was rewarded. Post Steve Jobs, Tim Cook has continued on the same line by extending loyalty to devices as well. Apple has collaborated with carriers to ensure that data contracts become more attractive on newer devices than the older ones. It looks like Apple's age-old desire to have more consumers on newer devices still persists and has grown further. After few weeks of the WWDC, it was revealed that iOS 7 will not support iPhones and iPads 3GS and recently, it was found that iPad 2 is also best compatible with only 2 of 6 OS developed by Apple so far. In addition, Tim Cook himself revealed that 93 percent of Apple devices are running on iOS 6 that is the biggest proof of Apple having no time to look at the older versions of iPhones, iPads or OS.
