The new Motorola Atrix with its modern looks and impressive specification clearly sets a new level for forthcoming handsets to aspire to, given its dual core processor along with multiple docking option that effectively convert this phone into an all together different device.Starting with the looks, and the model certainly keeps up with some of the more appealing phones such s the iPhone 4 and the black Motorola Optimus. A glass panel fill the whole front side of the unit, whilst the back consists of a plastic panel with a textured finish. Being an Android handset, you will find the four familiar Android keys beneath the screen, which are always visible, unlike on the Google Nexus S, where they light up with the screen. Around the sides of the unit are where you will find the various ports, with the familiar micro USB and Headphone socket joined here by a handy mini HDMI socket. Much of the design is dominated by the screen, which on this model is one of the most impressive features. At 960 x 540 resolution, images are clear and colour wise the screen is vivid, whilst also offering viewing angles better than experienced on other handsets. Indeed this screen is on a par with Apples Retina display found on the iPhone 4, and easily surpasses near rivals such as the Samsung Galaxy S. The screen supports multi touch and is perfect for viewing movie footage, however should you want to do this on a large screen, the multimedia dock easily connect to the TV, whilst offering you multiple USB sockets for adding additional units such as a keyboard, effectively making the Atrix a fully functioning media centre. One of the really impressive aspects of the Motorola Atrix is its processing power, and just how fast this phone actually is. The 1Ghz processor is dual core, meaning it easily handles multi tasking as well as any other task you ask of it. It is joined under the bonnet by 1GB of RAM and an internal storage capacity of 16GB, which can be easily extended by up to 32GB by adding a micro SD card. If you are looking for a phone on which to browse the web, then the Atrix will not disappoint. Not only is WiFI connectivity included but the device also sports 3G connectivity, making going online whilst on the move a quick and simple affair. If you want to enhance this experience further, then a Laptop dock is available for the phone with an 8" display, trackpad, keyboard and separate battery. This uses the phone as the engine, and a clever webtop interface even appears when activated instead of the Android layout, giving you a more familiar laptop feel as well as great web browsing via a full version of Firefox. The Motorola certainly looks like one of the premier handsets of 2011, and it is hard to see how any potential smartphone shopper could not be attracted to this superb handset. The Motorola Atrix and the Samsung Galaxy Gio are coming soon.
