Two hundred years ago, the world experienced an energyrevolution but today the situation is completely different. The world is facedwith severe energy crisis. The supplies of gas, oil, power are limited andtheir consumption is extremely dangerous to our health and our environment.Their price increased considerably in the last few years. An electricityshortage is felt mostly by those who depend on electricity for their heating, lighting, cooking Most people reject these fact as unessential. But when welook back in the past we can see that world faced with three major energycrisis 1973 oil crisis, 1979 energy crisis and 1990 oil-price hike. Energy consumption is increasing every day since needs arebigger and bigger. This causes shortage of energy sources. Statistic says that50 % of available oil has already been exhausted. The rest supplies will lastthe next 32 years. What will happen then? Even the current generations arefaced with the lack of energy sources. And this problem is not just temporary. It is getting worse. What are wegoing to do? First of all, we must not ignore the fact that non-renewableenergy sources are getting close to their end. We have to minimize usage ofoil, gas or any other fuel. Thus their supplies will last a little longer. Thenwe can do some small things as well. We can switch off our car engines when ontraffic lights, we can save energy. Just think how much do we use gas or oil ineveryday activities. We have someothers alternatives. We must start using solar and wind energy. Their suppliesare inexhaustible; they are environmental friendly, not expensive, clean andsafe for our health. Thus we are making this world better place for living.
