Sony Ericsson have established a reputation for producing high quality and feature packed mobile handsets. The new Xperia Neo is no exception, combining eye catching looks with a specification list that many models would be envious of.As is often the case with this manufacturer, the looks of this phone are certainly impressive. A combination of curves along with straight lines makes the phone pleasing on the eye, certainly more so than many models currently available that all seem to adopt the same shape. Looking at the front of the phone, the handset sports three physical keys in the form of back, home and menu keys. These have a ilver finish which further adds to the appealing design. The manufacturers have opted to play it safe with screen size, fitting this model with a 3.7" screen that is on a par size wise with te HTC Desire. This is better than your average screen however thanks to it sporting an LED backlight which helps improve legibility in sunlight and provide a naturally rich depth of colour. Sony have included Bravia Mobile technology into this model, further enhancing the picture, especially on video playback, in a similar way to how it works on home televisions.. In these times of ever increasing contract lengths, the fact that this screen is finished with a scratch resistant material is an attractive feature, as is the mini HDMI port which joins the familiar micro USB and stereo socket on the edges of the phone.One area where the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo really does excel is in the multi media department. The phone is not only ideal for taking photographs with, but also offers great video capture and music playback. The phone has only a very limited internal storage capacity, however this is perfectly counteracted by the micro SD card slot which enables storage of up to 32GB to be added, with 8GB coming supplied with the phone. Like many modern smartphones, the phone offers high definition video capture, meaning the unit shoots film at a resolution of 720 progressively scanned lines at an excellent frame rate of 30 per second. Equally as impressive is the still shot feature, offering 8 mega pixel images along with a host of useful features including an LED flash and autofocus.What the Xperia Neo does is bring Sony Ericsson bang up to date and in line with other big hitting models such as the Galaxy S2 from Samsung and the Desire S from HTC.
