Each of the wind turbines has a 3 megawattcapacity. Vestas has also agreed to provide service for the wind farmfor 10 years.The wind farm project which will be completed by mid-2011,will be getting its wind turbines from Vestas in the fourth quarter of theyear.The Turkish wind power plant will be generating at least 333,000megawatt-hours per year, which translates to the reduction of close to 160,000tons of carbon dioxide. The electricity isexpected to power 52,250 homes in Turkey. Vestas Mediterranean president Juan Araluce says Vestas ishappy to be working with the A ao lu Group forthe second time. The two companies hadjust finished a 33-megawatt project situated at a Mersin province in southernTurkey.Vestas first wind turbine was built in Turkey in 1984.
