The unit also comes with GUI software ( Graphical UserInterface) for easy installation onto a Desktop or Notebook PC to allowfor even easier navigation. Firmware and software updates are alsodownloadable from web. For Hard Drives that do Not have the imbeddedSecure Erase feature, the HAMMER will automatically default to aspecial highly secure overwrite program called BankDisk32. If power isinterrupted or the drive fails in any way, the HAMMER will "lock" theDrive preventing access to the data. The unit comes equipped with allthe necessary cables to operate the unit as a standalone device or inconjunction with a PC. Four drives can be erased per session. Connectmultiple HAMMERS to a PC via USB hub and increase the number of drivesper session accordingly. For additional security, print a customizedlabel that can be affixed to the erased drive. The label can includename, time, date and includes the HDD Serial number and other HDDmanufacturer identifications.
