Your logo is one of the most important elements you have topromote your business. Your logo is so important that it is no surprise thatyou have it almost everywhere – your letterhead, website, your print ads usingcommercial color printing process, your business cards. In fact, if you want topromote brand recognition, you’d surely have your logo to reach out to yourclients, prospects, other vendors, and most especially the media. And because your logo is always out there to make animpression, you need to create one that would provide a positive impression foryour business. You need to have a logo that will create that professional imageof you. Even if you are working at home and has your office in your garage, aprofessional logo would make it easier for you to reach out to as many leads aspossible. Here’s how: 1 – Use a logo that says exactly what you do and offers aunique quality of your business. Since your logo is a direct reflection of your business,then there is no question about it, it should have a symbol representing yourunique qualities and your business personality. It should relate to your name,your niche, and most especially, that special something that makes youdifferent from the rest of your competitors. When choosing the object to represent you in your logo, donot go for what your competitors have used just because that object wassuccessful for reaching out to their target audience. Be unique. And considerobjects that amply describe what you can do exactly. 2 – Keep it simple and clear. Avoid using too many details in your logo. The simpler itis, the easier for your target clients and customers to recognize what you do.Nevertheless, a simple logo doesn’t mean that it should look like you did notthink much about it. Despite its simplicity, offer something unique andunexpected so that your clients and prospects would be drawn to it. Andremember to use strong, bold and clean lines to emphasize your brand. 3 – Make it scalable. Make sure that your logo will still have its appeal even ifyou change its size to small, medium and large. If your logo can look good in asmall print ad such as your business cards, it should also present well in amuch larger size such as a billboard. 4 – Ensure that your logo works with full commercial colorprinting, as well as in black and white. One graphic designer suggests that if your logo does notlook good in black and white, you will have a hard time making it look fine inany color. 5 – Create balance. Lastly, create balance in the overall appearance of yourlogo. Make sure that all the elements are beautifully combined that no elementshould overpower the others. One final point: love your logo as you would love thyself.Do not settle for anything less. Create a logo that would be perfect for youand your business because you’re going to use it for many years to come.
