Awhile ago, I got an email from one of the "gurus" I follow and it shocked me. The gist of it was this person wanted to trade services for a household item.To say it floored me would be an understatement. What was worse was a few days later t Automation technologies represent a fundamental aspect of any modern industry. The major types of industrial automation solutions, such as DCS, PLC, SCADA, and MES, are used on a large-scale in process and discrete industries.DCS technologie
One of the things that I've been doing for practically every single year in my business, and if I think about it, actually every single year in my business is to map out ahead what I want the coming year to look like. Now you've heard about goals and all of that but I will tell you something. What I am about to share with you is something that I have done every single year since the beginning of my business and I believe that it is because of this one thing that I want to share with you today that my income has always exceeded the previous year's income. It's a very simple assignment. It takes about an hour to two hours but it is so worth it, especially when you have a weekend like we have coming up right before the new year or the first day of the new year. This is about projecting what you would like to happen in the next year, but I want to take it a step further than just New Year's resolutions because I don't believe that those work or even the next year ahead.Yes, I have income goals for the next 12 months but the way for me to stretch so much bigger than I would normally is to think about 3-year goals. Why 3-year goals? Because when you ask someone, when you ask yourself to put down 1-year goals, you get really self-conscious. You start thinking about, "Ooh, how is that going to happen," or really getting worried about having too little time to achieve something really, really big.Instead I ask you to look at creating a 3-year goal. Imagine that it was December 31st of 3 years from now and you are sitting down and having looked over the past 3 years to today, I would like you to begin a journal entry that says, "I am so happy and grateful now that over the past 3 years I have accomplished..."I want you to really map out what you would like to see your life be like exactly 3 years from today. Three years allows you to be a little less inhibited and has you be more realistic but with a bit of a stretch. Instead of thinking, "Oh, can I get this done," when you have a period of 3 years, you actually let your mind open up to what might be possible if you have the time and the focus and the concentration to get these things done.Your assignment is to take out the fresh journal or a piece of paper, take it out of your printer, whatever works, and I would like for you to just really journal. You can journal in categories: business, what you want your business to look like in 3 years. What your finances will look like in 3 years. What your personal life will look like. What about your relationships, your family. What about the spiritual aspect of you. Where do you want to be in 3 years? And what about your fun, your fun aspect or what you want to do for fun in your life. What about your health? What do you want your health and fitness to be like? This isn't about goals because goals are kind of a "should have." This, I want you to imagine in the present tense what it's like to live this. What does it taste like? What does it feel like? How do you feel inside? What are your surroundings? Where do you live? Who do you spend time with? What do you do in your business? What do you no longer do in your business? How much money are you making? All that good stuff, write it in the present tense. "It's so amazing to see what has happened in the last 3 years since I saw Fabienne's assignment about creating my 3-year vision. I am now living in a new place," or "My business is now like this," or "My list," or "My sales," or "My number of clients," all of that. Write this all in the present tense and fill it in with imagery and fill it in so that when you read it, you start getting a little bit excited. If this does not make your heart beat just a little bit faster and get you a little bit nervous, I don't think you stretched big enough. Don't worry about the "how"; just start writing.I actually do this with my spouse. Derek and I both do this every year. Sometimes we actually read it to each other, but sometimes we take a day off from work, like a Friday, and we actually map out how we think we can make this happen. But don't worry about the how as you're writing it all down. The key is to really be in that feeling place and include as many details as possible; not the how but just how the end result will be and then you're going to take action on it in the coming year. The interesting thing is when you do this, when I've done this, I usually reach those goals, even though we're not calling them goals, this vision within one and a half to two years, sometimes even as fast as one year. Pretty cool but I shouldn't have told you that because I don't want you to get into the how.Really start writing this out and read it again and read it to your partner, read it to your team members, really share all that you want to share about this and that is how you reach different levels of your business, different levels of your income and your personal satisfaction in your personal life and everything very, very quickly.
