Whether you're an old hat at manning trade show booths at an exhibition or you're brand new to the world of trade show stands, creating a successful display is easy if you know what you're doing. Trade Show Displays Need To Make A Big ImpactThe best displays are clean, uncluttered, and use dynamic graphics to grab attention. Attendees at these events are being pulled in every direction by sounds, smells, and sights, and you'll need to make an impact. You'll likely have only seconds to make an impression, so your company name needs to be large and clear.Your booth should have an uncluttered look that easily and quickly explains your company and what it does. You'll only get a quick glance unless the attendee is specifically looking for your product or service. Your message should be limited to only the most important selling points or features - don't feel like you need to include them all. Get Attendees InvolvedMany people learn and retain information by doing, not just hearing about it or watching someone else do it. If possible, put your product into your potential clients' hands. If the product is small enough, have one on hand for attendees to try. If you sell computer software, have a station set up for potential clients to try. The more you interact with your potential clients, the greater chance you have to turn them into actual customers. Don't Make Attendees Guess If You Work ThereIt might seem like a small detail, but make sure that any employees who are working your company's trade show displays are easily identifiable. If attendees can't tell who is working at trade show displays, they'll likely keep on walking. A simple uniform like khaki slacks and a polo shirt with your company's logo should be enough, but if you don't have polo shirts and don't have time to get them made, a simple name badge can be enough. Just make sure employees are circulating and engaging attendees instead of talking amongst themselves in front of the trade show stands. Also include comfortable shoes in your employees' 'uniform.' They'll likely be on their feet for eight to ten hours and will be much more comfortable if they're in appropriate footwear. Consider Adding Giveaways To Your Trade Show BoothsDon't limit yourself to handing out business cards. While these cards are valuable and useful, they're also disposable. If a potential client doesn't immediately see the usefulness of your business or product, they may toss it in right into the trash. In addition to business cards, consider handing out useful products such as a pens, pencils, or a pad of sticky notes. These products will stay in the hands of potential clients long after the exhibition is over. Planning a booth at an exhibition can be tiring, but if you take the time to execute it correctly, the results can be well worth the work.
