A bridal showcase is a convention in its own category. Few other gatherings draw such a large crowd with the same kind of emotional charge as a wedding. After all, a wedding is a bride's special day, and every couple wants things to be perfect. As an exhibitor at a bridal showcase, you want to illustrate how your product will seamlessly integrate with the bride's plans, helping her build the day of her dreams.The Focus Is On Her, Not Your Trade Show ExhibitAt most conventions, the focus is primarily on the product being showcased. When the product is either a gown, or a venue, or anything else having to do with weddings, the product should be featured, though secondary to the bride herself. The best way to do this is by having a lot of interactive features in your trade show booth. If your product is bridal wear, have a place for brides to try on your clothing, or at least have a computer program that lets them explore the various styles. If you are offering any kind of food, such as cakes or catering services, bring samples.Minimize the amount of information that you put on the walls of your trade show stand. There is very little technical information to be displayed about wedding merchandise, so stick to the bare essentials. Whenever possible, enhance your products with photos of brides who have used them and loved the experience. If you don't have photos on hand, it might be wise to arrange some shoots before the convention.Train Your Staff To Read The BrideAt this kind of convention, reading your visitors is more important than ever. Weddings bring out an incredible number of personalities, including those who would never normally visit an exhibition. Your staff needs to be able to identify the personality as soon as a person walks into your trade show booth, and be able to tailor their selling strategy accordingly. In many cases, you will absolutely be intending to get sales at your trade show exhibit rather than promoting a new product in the abstract. When sales are on the line, accurate perceptions are even more vitally important. Some fiancées will require more persuasion, while others may require a very hands-off approach.
