Automation technologies represent a fundamental aspect of any modern industry. The major types of industrial automation solutions, such as DCS, PLC, SCADA, and MES, are used on a large-scale in process and discrete industries.DCS technologie Awhile ago, I got an email from one of the "gurus" I follow and it shocked me. The gist of it was this person wanted to trade services for a household item.To say it floored me would be an understatement. What was worse was a few days later t
Classic banner stands are among the most traditional trade show exhibits. They have existed since the very beginning of conventions, and although technology has granted them the occasional update or added convenience, they have remained largely identical to their original forms. Over the past few years, however, many changes have been introduced that have taken banner stands from a well-known part of the convention equation into an entirely new territory.Technology, Meet Trade Show BoothOne of the biggest advances is the recent integration of projection screens into banner stands. Initially, these displays were of little use for actual projection. There wasn't a good way to integrate a display area into the material, which made obtaining a high quality image a challenge. Recent advances have overcome this problem, and newer designs allow front or rear projection from a standard projecting device. This new style retains the convenient setup and small packaging system that distinguishes small trade show exhibits for many companies. The same number of choices is generally present in terms of graphics and other accessories. These styles tend to be slightly more complex to setup, but are still estimated to take about 10 to 15 minutes to prepare. The actual set up of the unit itself is easy, but sorting out the projector can be a bit more complex.Banner Stands That Display Products And LiteratureAn additional limitation of the old banner trade show booth was that it couldn't display products very effectively. Because it was essentially a piece of plastic or cloth hooked to the top and bottom of a pole, there wasn't any way to hang a product on the unit itself, nor could literature easily be placed on it. Some companies resorted to using a literature pocket, but such inventions always seemed to look awkward. In response to this, a new design has emerged. This design features a pedestal integrated into the bottom of the trade show booth, reaching up just high enough to allow placement of the desired items. While the platform is not overwhelmingly large, it can accommodate most small merchandise and literature. Many companies have found success using a number of these pedestals, aligning banner stands next to each other so that their pedestals are close. In this way, the multiple units act like one trade show booth, presenting a unified image that customers find appealing.Pop Up Trade Show ExhibitsAlthough not strictly banners, these units were heavily influenced by their predecessors. Pop up trade show booths take the idea of a stretched piece of fabric or plastic one step further: they essentially assemble themselves. There is one central hub, and when opened, the spokes straighten themselves out, forming the display. There is virtually no assembly required, and set-up time can be as little as five minutes or less. Many pop up displays are able to offer the same conveniences of a more traditional unit, but their design remains unique. They are available in many sizes, and can be placed on a table, used as a complementary display to highlight something else, or even used as a trade show booth in their own right.Explore Before You BuyIf you haven't looked at the selection of trade show exhibits in several years, you should take some time to browse before you make your next purchase. Even if none of the upgrades are for you, it's still good to know what is available. You can take a look at your next convention, or contact your company and see whether they're carrying the latest designs. If not, look at the websites of some of the leading companies and explore industry periodicals to learn more.
