If you are a seasoned exhibitor at trade shows, you will no doubt know that having a nicely designed stand and competent staff is only the start. You must find the trade show attendees who could be interested in who you are and what you do. Simply jumping out at people as they pass by your stand will put them off. You need to create a buzz around your booth which attracts people to you. You can then properly suss each individual out and decide whether they are good prospects or a waste of time. This can be done with games played on your stand with inexpensive promotional gifts and here I would like to show you how.The game you choose can start with a simple promotional stress ball. Think of a sport that you like or with which your company is closely associated. If it is golf, get some golf stress balls printed with your logo and details, if it is basket ball do the same. The most important thing is that you have plenty of fun promotional stress balls to hand out as freebies. Everyone loves a free gift.Once you have your printed stress relievers, think of a game you can play on the stand. You could, for example put up a small toy basket ball hoop or place an office putting green on the floor of your stand. Challenge people to score using one of the many stress balls you have on display by getting a hole in one etc. Look excited and visitors are much more likely to have a go!You will also want to order a few more expensive gifts such as Parker Gift Pens or good quality t-shirts printed with your logo. These can be offered as prizes for those who score. While each visitor attempts to make a basket or get a hole in one, talk to them. Try to find out what they do and if they are in the position to be purchasing your products. People love to speak about themselves so this is an excellent opportunity to qualify or disqualify them as the case may be.Those visitors who show promise should be invited onto your stand and given more information and of course one or two of the winning prizes even if they did not win. These gifts will not only sell your brand but they are also a good ice breaker when you do your follow up calls after the show. Those individuals who prove to be time wasters can be waved on their way and they will be happy that they received the free stress ball. In fact, unknowingly, they have helped in creating that all important buzz that is people around your trade show stand.
