Thus in this article, we will look at the procedure as well as the eligibility to register GST.All the entities who either buy or sell goods or provide services or both are required to obtain the GST registration. An entity which has not registered under GST would not be able to collect GST from its customers or will not be able to claim the input tax credit of the GST paid. This is also mandatory when the dealer crosses the minimum threshold or when he starts a new business which has plans to exceed the prescribed threshold. The steps that must be followed for online GST registration are:Step 1: To verify the prelim Details:A login account is to be created on the GST website to initiate the registration process. The person then is required to submit the email, mobile number and PAN on the GSTN portal. The PAN has verified automatically online.The mobile number and email are verified through a One Time password validation system and these details are filled in the form PART 1 of GST REG-01.#Step 2: Submit Application form - Once the basic details are verified, one is required to fulfil the registration form and complete all the related formalities like uploading of the documents. If everything is found to be in order by the officer, then the GST registration will be granted within 3 working days.If there is any deficiency in the application, then the applicant should be informed of the period of 3 working days in FORM GST REG-03.After getting the deficiencies, the applicant would be required to respond within 7 working days through FORM GST REG-04.#Step 4 – No action within 3 working days: If the officer does not respond the person either with the deficiencies or with the approval then the application for the grant of registration shall be deemed to have been approved.#Step 5 – Registration Certificate: Then a certificate of registration in the FORM GST REG-06 shall be issued through a common portal when the application is approved by the officer. The applicant can easily download the registration certificate from the common portal that has been provided by using their login id passwords.#Step 6 –Separate registration for each branch: If the person has different branches in different states, then separate registration is required for each state.Registration of GST would be very complicated in the beginning but following the above-mentioned steps as well as filing it carefully will help to avoid the mistakes.
