When you work with an attorney, you will have no problem reducing the risks associated with getting your case in front of a judge and jury, or other formal court, when you need to. However, every case is different. It is important to work wi Bankruptcy is a situation, wherein an individual is termed as unable to discharge all the debts. When a person or a company is not able to pay off its creditors, it has an obligation to file a bankruptcy suit. In fact, a bankruptcy suit is a
This is something that I feel I must discuss because it hasbecome a serious problem. It is controversial so I understand that there willbe mixed feelings regarding this articles topic. I also want to make it clearthat what this article says isnt directed towards every law enforcementofficer, so if someone in your life is one, this isnt against them. It has been increasingly brought to my attention that somelaw enforcement officers are abusing their power and giving the badge a badname. In fact, for me at least, its gotten to the point where if I was inserious danger I would rather face that problem on my own than talk to a policeofficer. I wouldnt know who the lesser of two evils was, the problem I wasfacing or the possibly corrupt officer I would get stuck talking to. Now I knowIm not alone when I say this, police officers are supposed to bring a sense ofcomfort and peace to the upstanding citizens not a sense of dread and fear. Yet90% of the time that I come into contact with a law enforcement officer I feelthe fear not the sense of safety. There is something seriously wrong with thatpicture. This is a fear that has been warranted;, let me give you justa few explanations. It seems that nowadays its first instinct is to shoot firstanswer questions later. I dont know what the reason for this is as it wasntalways like this. With that being said even if you have to stop an assailantyou can do it without killing them. It would be very effective to shot them inthe leg, thus stopping their movement and getting the perpetrator withoutkilling them. If the kill shot is really warranted than fine but lately I havebeen seeing the opposite. Strike 1A perfect example comes from where I live. There was a youngboy in high school who had a mental disorder. He was becoming unruly andcausing problems, he wasnt on a murderous rampage, he was just acting out withhis disorder. The sheriff knew that this young boy had a mental disorder butinstead of giving the kid a chance he shot him and killed the boy in front ofhis younger brother. It still makes me sick thinking about it. They could havesaved that boy and saved his brother the trauma of seeing him shot. But theycouldnt do that, they took the easy way out, and to add to that the officerdespite being demoted was kept on the force. He is a liability to himself, theforce, and the citizens of this county. That hit me particularly hard because I have a mentaldisorder. Its not as serious as what that boy had, it is just anxietydisorder. But nonetheless with the incident itself and the way it was handled Ifelt like it was a personal attack against people with disorders. Essentiallyit was saying this We dont know how to handle people with mental disorders, youre crazy and cant be trusted, we are better off shooting you first. Youmay call it overreacting but all the local citizens agree with me. And all ofthis from someone we are supposed to trust, from someone we are supposed to goto in our time our need. Its truly pathetic. Strike 2The cops around here have let the power go to their head. Yousee them walking or in their patrol cars and they have this look on their facethat directly says Im the shit, Im better than everyone else. They need tobe confident I understand that, but this isnt confidence its I have my headup my ass cockiness. Only about one out of every ten cops I see looks like adecent person who I could trust if need be. I hate that, I hated driving aroundfeeling like the cops are my enemy instead of my friend, but thats what theirattitudes have driven me towards. Its not just their poor attitudes its theirsour actions. A friend of mine told me about an incident she had one day afew weeks ago. Keep in mind we live in a safe part of town, not much problemswith gangs, the prostitutes are all on the other side of town ect. She wasgoing to the corner store early in the morning in her sweat pants with nomake-up on for something to eat. A cop drove up and accused her of being ahooker. Alright no caked on make-up, no fishnet stockings, no top that has hercleavage falling out. Actually quite the opposite, baggy clothes and no make-up,so where does he get off calling her a prostitute when she looks like that? Its insulting to her, to women in general and it shows how much he doesnt deserveto wear the badge.Strike 3I see this all the time. Someone is pulled over for somethingsimple like speeding or a possible DUI. No big deal right? Thats what I wouldthink. Yet within 10 minutes there are four cop cars surrounding him/her. Onecop is actually taking down the information the rest are sitting in their carsor standing outside of their cars talking to each other with the lightsflashing. Whats the damn point? You have nothing better to do? You all have tobe on the side of the road talking while the citizens are paying for yourimportant time. Its disgusting and pathetic. I said we dont have a big gangproblem here but we do have one. Im no expert but shouldnt they be puttingtheir time into something important instead of badgering a guy for going tenmiles over the speed limit? The law enforcements mantra is To Serve and Protect butlately I wonder if that remains even remotely true anymore. You have heard myexamples that warrant this feeling and Im sure you have some of your own. Whenis this going to end? When are we going to get the police officers that wedeserve back? The ones that we can go up to and say I have a problem not thatwe look away from in fear. I cant believe its gotten this bad but it has. Thecops out there who are good I thank youfor your hard work and for doing what you feel is right despite what the othersare doing to tarnish the badge. I dont claim to know everything but what I doknow is that something needs to change, we have to build this country up againnot drag it down and that starts with making law enforcement what it should beonce again.
